1 litre bottle of Machaquito, Anis Extra Seco (Dry), double-distilled (bidestilado), from the town of Rute, Cordoba, Andalusia. ABV: 55%
100% natural product, obtained in a completely artisanal way by flavouring Andalusian matalahúga aniseed grains in a very slow distillation of surfin quality molasses alcohol and water from the Subbética region. Produced in centenary copper stills with wood-fired ovens.
The alcohol obtained in the first distillation is re-distilled with new matalahúga to achieve greater aromatisation. It is then graduated to 55% vol. It is then filtered up to three times and is ready for bottling.
It is a colourless liqueur, which shows its 55 proof and high content of the essential oil of the matalahúga with a persistent flavour.
It has magnificent appetite-stimulating, digestive and diuretic properties.
Drink in a large glass at cellar temperature and enjoy the exclusive and pleasant aftertaste with a ‘cauldron flavour’. Due to its high richness in essential oils and alcohol content, it is perfect for making ‘paloma’ in a large glass, mixed with one part in four parts of very cold water. Add natural lemon, ice and sugar to taste.
