Ratafia is elaborated by hand, following the traditional methods of maceration of aguardiente. This is one of the great classics of Catalan Ratafia. Since 1903, Ratafia Russet is, without a doubt, the Ratafia of the Garrotxa region of Catalonia.
The Russet family started making it in the early 20th century with ingredients that remain secret after five generations, although the use of green walnuts, nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves, sugar and brandy is known. Amber and caramel in colour, it has aromas of nuts and aromatic herbs, and is sweet and mellow on the palate.
An aperitif and digestive that is usually drunk chilled and is ideal to accompany all kinds of desserts.
